That is what's un-American. That is what's wrong with America. That is the disgrace here. That's what Senator Lieu is not doing. He is a community leader. It is his job to address issues that worry his constituents. That's exactly what he's doing here.

I find it troubling that you are accusing Lieu of not believing in the American way of life and not being an American. He is standing up against bigotry, against hate, against fearmongering. Are you saying that Americans need to support bigotry, hate, and fearmongering to be considered true Americans? I disagree, I think we're better than that.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7157051350798517553.post-9979238915444228622011-12-12T09:39:16.694-05:002011-12-12T09:39:16.694-05:00Very well said. The senator is way over his skis! To the individual who stated the senator's letter was thoughtful and reasonable, you are misguided. How is it thoughtful to suggest that an American company that employs thousands of Americans should be boycotted? How is it brave that a pompous senator threatens an American company to which he has essentially no jurisdiction. This senator is a total disgrace!!!G.https://www.blogger.com/profile/01626656533398387495noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7157051350798517553.post-29213812724066858012011-12-11T20:39:51.824-05:002011-12-11T20:39:51.824-05:00Sorry I have no respect for any elected official t...Sorry I have no respect for any elected official that does not believe in the American way of life. Sen. Lieu just proved his only concern is staying elected not being an American.

Unfairly persecuted does not apply here. The only one being unfairly persecuted is Lowe's at this point.

For an elected Senator to threaten a boycott and possible legislative action because he disagrees with a private business that chooses where to spend its ad dollars in a legal manner is not what we elect them to do.

Lieu should be ashamed and ran out of office by the mere threat he espouses.

I will happily oblige taking the lead against him.

Thanks for writing.Louisville News and Politicshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06304053439681295941noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7157051350798517553.post-31792847912031117872011-12-11T16:47:26.507-05:002011-12-11T16:47:26.507-05:00Wow, please try to calm down a little. I'm not sure what it's like where you live, but in my community most of our doctors and engineers are Muslims. I have Muslim friends and neighbors - they are all very kind, generous, family oriented people. I read the senator's letter and thought it was very thoughtful and reasonable. I actually respect him more for having the bravery to stand up for what is right.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7157051350798517553.post-43324421940382790692011-12-11T15:16:07.477-05:002011-12-11T15:16:07.477-05:00Bravo to a great piece of well thought out writing...Bravo to a great piece of well thought out writing.

This man is OUT of his element on this. It none of his business or the governments business as to how a privately run company spends or pulls their advertising dollars.

Personally, I think he simply just jumped on a bandwagon and saw the potential for additional votes here. Hopefully this will backfire.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
