JOHN FLOOD UPDATE

This whole Flood scenario is going about as expected from the onset. As I have reported previously a plea deal was in the works for Flood to resign and in return the case would be dropped.

Today his court date was supposed to do one thing plead guilty or not guilty. Simple enough right?

Nope.

Today there was no plea because special prosecuting attorney Chip McKay and Flood's attorney Alex Dathorne, former Jefferson County prosecutor that I am sure is not relevant, said they believe a plea deal will be reached prior to the next court date.

As you may recall I pointed out the original deal would be Flood would retire if charges were dropped. Well there is discussion of a new deal now. The new deal laid out today is that if Flood retires by the end of year he will plead guilty but no jail time.

Sounds like our special prosecutor may be dropping the ball now. Typical political case. Give Flood the full 90 day jail term he deserves and quit allowing special consideration for political cronies. Flood is a convicted felon and charged with a repeat offense. Any of us would not be given this special consideration.

Write or fax Chip McKay and tell him once again we will not allow this to go unchecked.

Flood has abused us all through the context of his office and illegally so. Let McKay know this is unacceptable.

Mr. March "Chip" McKay
Asst. Commonwealth Attorney
(502) 348-0336 (fax)

Just say no. It is time to gain accountability.

  1. Ed: Do you have Mr. McKay's e-mail or snail-mail address? I want to participate, but don't have access to a fax machine at this time.

  2. How long will he be on probation if he pleads guilty?

  3. Why is it that someone like Flood should receive any sort of special consideration? Is it because Flood has more information on others in the Abramson regime if he were to talk? Therefore, give him a plea deal that way he can get off of the crimes he has committed and wouldn't speak like a bird about the system.

Its horrendous to see this continued miscarriage of justice going on in this city. A city where Abramson and his cronies and rob the city and its citizens of their tax funds, infrastructure, and decency.

Why is it that careerist political hacks like Floor constantly get off of whatever criminal actions but the average citizen would be penalized beyond belief. Try not paying taxes or paying some court ordered fee. Meanwhile, with much of the community deep in debt during the economic crisis and every other conceivable mess being made by the Abramson administration its a shame that Louisville residents don't get to clean the barn out.

The latest fiasco was the ill guided and ignorant guise of the Mayor in stealing intellectual property meanwhile blaming the corporate lawyers of the Dr. Seuss organization. Its on you this time Jerry. Its not the fault of the Dr. Seuss lawyers. Its your fault because you yourself as a lawyer and your other lawyers didn't see a conflict of interest about using the likeness and character of Dr. Seuss without permission which is a theft of intellectual property. Not to mention you thought that you would not get caught.

Its amazing what this city has been turned into. A banana republic on the Ohio River with its Mayor for Life, crony Council, and a lapdog news media. At one time, these sorts of things might have been discussed on the local media but these days they are forbidden.

Flood as well as his wife MaDonna need both to be questioned on the stand and whatever has been brought up in their conversations to be scrutinized. In fact, everything these people do needs to be scrutinized. Including Abramson, Chad Carlton, Bud Schardein, and the others. There is enough lies and political corruption to go around

  4. Larry I am working on the snail mail address now and will forward when I get the official one.

Anonymous in answer to the probation question I can not assume to know. That is a decision left to the judge. Flood was on probation for 5 years following his last conviction but that included 9 felony counts not just a false swearing charge.

He can be jailed for up to 90 days, however, and I am pushing for this option. He made the same mistake twice so in this case justice must be served. We must gain accountability. Thanks for the responses.

  5. Don't know his email, but his real name is Arch (probably Archibald) Cox McKay III, what a cruel thing to do to one's child. I'll bet it acmckay@kyprosecutors.net. That would fit their email naming convention.
