WEDNESDAY: VA,GAIL POWERS, AND MORE

REMINDER: Quick reminder that the public forum on the VA hospital is tonight from 6-8 pm at the American Legion Post, 2919 Bardstown Rd. Please attend and let your voice be heard on behalf of the veterans in our community.

GAIL POWERS: Republican candidate for 44th District State House Gail Powers held a fundraiser at the Lions Club in SW Louisville last night. Gubernatorial candidate Phil Moffett along with running mate, and current Danville State Rep. Mike Harman were in attendance. Other notables included former Senate candidate Bill Johnson, Former Mayoral candidate and activist Chris Thieneman, and many more. Great turnout for a great person.

BEATING THE HEAT: Today's Courier had an interesting story on patches being used to identify when the body is getting too hot to help aid in the prevention of heat stroke. Currently it has been tested on mice but is being tested at other venues including with some high school football players. many of you may recall the tale of Max Gilpin who died from heat related illness while at football practice. This may be something of the future that can help aid in the prevention of tragedies such as this. LEO ON MANDY CONNELL: Today's LEO just came out and is profiling the coverage of the Mandy Connell "half breed" comment she made during her radio show recently in regards to Obama. Yep they quoted yours truly. Check it out Oh, Mandy Louisville's Alt-Weekly LEO Weekly
