OBAMA AND BIG BROTHER NOW SUING ARIZONA

OK has anyone else had enough? Obama has decided to use our taxpayer money to sue Arizona over their decision on illegal immigration. What else do we need this nut job to do? Justice files lawsuit against Arizona immigration law - Washington Times

Arizona has a serious problem with border security and now Obama is trying to usurp their attempt at helping correct it. Obama is hiding behind federal law, a law that has clearly not been adhered to or effective, in trying to shut down Arizona.

The government is seeking an injunction to delay the July 29 implementation of the law until the case is resolved. It ultimately wants the law declared invalid.

The government contends that the Arizona law violates the supremacy clause of the Constitution, a legal theory that says federal laws override state laws. It is already illegal under federal law to be in the country illegally, but Arizona is the first state to make it a state crime and add its own punishment and enforcement tactics.

President Obama last week in a major address on the controversy called the state's new rules "unenforceable," and the lawsuit had been expected for some time. The decision comes as the president is calling on Congress to pass a broad immigration bill that would legalize illegal immigrants, but the push has been resisted by lawmakers who say Mr. Obama needs to first worry about border security.

The Government, in this case Supreme being Obama who ran for President, as part of his platform, on comprehensive immigration reform, has decided that he knows what is best for individual states and their rights.

The tenth Amendment states that the powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.

Of course the Obamamites will say that federal law usurps the states rights and to a degree they may be correct but what about this. If the federal law is not enforced, creating duress and a financial burden on the State itself, do States not have the power and/or authority to correct the problem on behalf of its people? Perhaps Arizona should counter sue the Government, and Obama himself, for failure to do their job?

The decision comes as the president is calling on Congress to pass a broad immigration bill that would legalize illegal immigrants, but the push has been resisted by lawmakers who say Mr. Obama needs to first worry about border security.

Gee any political motive here by Obama and the insider Democratic machine? You bet.

Gov. Jan Brewer's spokesman called the decision to sue "a terribly bad decision."

"Arizona obviously has a terrible border security crisis that needs to be addressed, so Gov. Brewer has repeatedly said she would have preferred the resources and attention of the federal government would be focused on that crisis rather than this," spokesman Paul Senseman said.

That would make too much sense. Actually spending money correcting a problem instead of spending it aiding and abetting the problem? Gee is that an un American sentiment or what? Sarcasm purely intended.

Republican Sens. Jon Kyl and John McCain of Arizona also lashed out at the administration's decision, saying "the American people must wonder whether the Obama Administration is really committed to securing the border when it sues a state that is simply trying to protect its people by enforcing immigration law."

Well said. It would appear that the Obama agenda will leave no stone unturned including suing a State for doing nothing more than protecting its people. And of course on OUR DIME at that.

BP REACHES SETTLEMENT WITH GROUP REPRESENTING SEA TURTLES: YEP I AM SERIOUS

While dong my daily checks on what is happening in the Gulf I ran across this story: Oil Spill: BP Lawsuit For Burning Turtles Alive Reaches Settlement. While admirable that someone cares about the plight of the sea turtles, myself included, do we not have more serious things to worry about in this situation right now?

From the article, "The lawsuit filed Wednesday by the Animal Welfare Institute and other groups said they were virtually certain turtles have been caught and burned in the corrals BP is using to capture and burn oil."

Well that is good enough for me. I am virtually certain that I have been caught in a pathetic economy because of our leader's malfeasance as well. Where do I sign up for a settlement?

"The lawsuit accused BP PLC of violating the Endangered Species Act."

Don't get me wrong I feel a whole lot better knowing the families of these sea turtles will be reimbursed by the Animal Welfare Institute with BP's money after the families are identified. But here is a question for you.

How do you identify the families of sea turtles? I mean in many cases we can't even identify who the right father is in humans today. But we can do this for sea turtles? I am virtualy certain that immediate family members of the sea turtle victims will not be getting a dime. Anyone else see a problem here?

This is another asinine statement: "Mark Proegler, a spokesman for the oil giant, said Thursday that the company has tried to avoid accidentally burning turtles. He said crews in boats look for turtles before oil is burned. He said they can stop the burns if any turtles are spotted."

If anyone believes this I have some beachfront property in Louisiana that won't be affected by the oil spill to sell you.

BP has proven from the outset that they are about the money period. From the time they started drilling to efforts at cleanup. To think they give one iota of attention to a burning sea turtle and are willing to stop a burn to save it is just not realistic.

Just like thinking a quick settlement with some Animal Welfare group to shut them up is crucial right now.

What about the families who are literally being starved to death or forced to move because of this disaster. What about the families of the dolphins, crabs, shrimp, and sharks.

And I don't mean the land sharks who are holding up progress for humans. I mean the aquatic kind. I'm going to represent them. The aquatic sharks and wait for my settlement. Someone has to.

I can't wait to see the settlement agreement and just how much the Animal Welfare Institute is going to get.

JULY 5TH: THE DAY AFTER INDEPENDENCE

As I listened and observed and kept reading all the July 4th Independence day wishes across the ineternet and the radio it made me think even more than I normally do. Yep hard to believe huh? The one thing that all had in common on Independence day, at least those who actually reflect on the meaning instead of the day off, were the words from our Constitution: "Life,Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness."

I decided to really break down the meaning of these words for those who generally just do not get it so here goes.

Let's look at the dictionary meaning of life;

Life

a. The interval of time between birth and death: She led a good, long life.
b. The interval of time between one's birth and the present: has had hay fever all his life.
c. A particular segment of one's life: my adolescent life.

Seems clear enough by definition does it not? One would think so anyway. Life defines the interim between when you were born and when you die. The quality of life however is based on the choices you make during this interim.

Liberty defined;

We have the inalienable right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Pay attention to the definitions above. Many get confused with this as meaning we have the right to life, liberty, and happiness. Nowhere does our Constitution read this no matter how the politicians spin it.

Only you can define happiness as it is different fro each of us. Life? We don't control that period of time only what we do during it. Liberty? Now we are talking. Let me ask a few questions.

Are you using this life to make a better America by holding our leadership accountable to what our Constitution grants us? Do you believe that our liberty is eroding more and more everyday? Are you truly free from confinement, servitude, or forced labor by our Government today?

Finally, do you feel you can truly pursue happiness as stated above?

Too many times today we see our elected officials continue to look after their own self interests instead of ours. We continue to be led down a path of irrelevance, in my opinion, based on the same leaders doing it to we the people instead of doing their jobs for we the people.

Hopefully, we the people will remember the reason for the season in our elections and actually focus on the meaning of this holiday instead of just looking for another day off work.

One can only hope anyway.

INDEPENDENCE DAY: A DAY OF REFLECTION

Happy 4th of July everyone! While celebrating this National holiday I think it appropriate to remember why it was established and what it signifies. Our nation made this day a federal holiday to commemorate the adoption of the Declaration of Independence that declared our Independence from Great Britain.

Today many just look at it as another holiday. I am not one of them.

I am proud to say I am a veteran. As such I have a tendency to pay attention to the wars we are involved in and the military overall. I am not ashamed to say I grieve with my brothers and sisters who serve today and their families when some do not come home.

I also remember that when I took an oath to uphold the Constitution of these United States that I was undertaking the most serious decision of my life. Not just then but today those words ring as true as they ever did.

The path of those that came before us was paved with blood, sweat, and tears much like we experience today though there are some differences. We used to fight wars over ideological differences that threatened our way of life. Now we fight them over greed in many cases. I am not just talking about armed wars overseas but here at home as well.

You see the oath I took was as follows:

"I, Edward W. Springston, do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God."

While I was serving in the military I focused primarily on the orders of the President and the officers appointed over me. I was proud then and am proud now to support the Constitution of these United States.

As the years have passed, and my military service completed, I have come to spend more and more time focusing on the words against all enemies, foreign and domestic. In many ways these are today's greatest fears. An enemy does not have to be one that is armed or foreign. An enemy is anyone who would betray and deviate from the Constitution of these United States and that is where I feel we are today.

When we defended ourselves in the past it was generally because we at least had moral superiority and were fighting for the betterment of others. Fighting when we had the moral high ground. Today's world is much different. Our enemies often times are from within.

Our Constitution continues to be shredded based on political will and the political leader's whim of the moment. The bi partisanship has not only weakened us as a Nation but weakened us around the world thus making the job of our military tougher today than ever before. We are more divided today than ever before in our history in these UNITED States.

When we fought in wars past we not only were feared, but we were respected as well across the globe. Today's world has shown our weaknesses first hand and we have lost to a degree that element that was in our favor.

We owe it to ourselves, and our forefathers, to continue to fight every day to preserve our rights and freedoms from government oppression. Being free isn't necessarily free. As our forefathers taught us we must work hard everyday to preserve it and defend it from those who would work to take it away from us.

The United States of America is still the freest Nation on earth and I for one am proud to be American. I will continue to fight for the freedoms our forefathers gained for us all to make this Great Nation stand tall and proud as leaders of the world. I will continue to fight against Government oppression and political malfeasance.

I started that fight long ago when I took an oath to defend this Constitution while in the military and I will continue to fight today against ALL enemies foreign and DOMESTIC. That is why I do what I do now. Those that would jeopardize our way of life are enemies period. They do not have to be foreigners come here to do us harm they can be just as easily egotistical, selfish, elected so called leaders.

The truest way to win any war is to win it from within. Divide and conquer is the oldest and most effective way to win known to man. Our own elected leaders are using that for their own gain today. Not ours. Until we can show some form of unity and solidarity as a people regardless of party lines that are meaningless today we will continue to lose this domestic war.

Make no mistake about it our very way of life is under attack. An unsustainable debt, a bleak economy, joblessness, homelessness, corporate greed, environmental disaters, and the lsit goes on.

This war affects our very way of life as a people and a Nation. A way of life that has been hated but mostly revered around the world. A way of life that has led from the front for those who seek to become a part of it. Let freedom ring.

I remember my oath well and I will uphold it with my last breath. I challenge each of you to read and take that oath, military or not, and truly think of the implications inherent within. It's not such a bad thing to undertake is it?

To my fellow soldiers serving today stay low and God speed. To those who have come before my sincerest thanks for all you have done and continue to do today.

This world truly is ours. Never forget that what we have today is what we were left with from our forefathers. What we make of it and leave behind is our choice. All I am asking you to do is get involved and pay attention. We can leave it better for those that come after us or we can leave it worse. I choose to leave it better than what we have.

THE OBAMA BITE ME PLAN EXPLAINED: TANNING TAX NOW IN EFFECT

Yep you read the headline right. Thanks to the new health care reform we have an additional 10% tax rate added to tanning bed visits. Small amount of money? Perhaps so but seriously? How far down this road do we want to go anyway. If they think this moronic tax is going to accomplish lower health care costs who the hell are they kidding.

It may be enough to get rid of one more small business that creates jobs and taxable income though.

The rationale is that you MAY get cancer by using these beds and therefore raise the cost of health care. How ridiculous does this sound? Back in the '80's there was a supposed "study" done that suggested breast milk caused cancer as well. So much for having kids how much would we tax that with today's mindset? Of course that disappeared quick.

A new tanning tax has some seeing red. Tanning salons are now required to charge a ten percent federal tax on the use of beds to help pay for the new health care plan. The new tanning tax has begun for ultra-violet treatments."Anything for tanning beds like the single visits or packages you buy," says Vada Johnson, District Manager of Perfect Tan.

That does not include air brushing or lotions and only affects tanning salons. Health clubs that have tanning beds are exempt."Why isn't everyone having to incur this tax, not just tanning salons?" Johnson asks.Johnson says the tax may discourage some customers from their business."If they push customers away, we don't collect 10%. How is that going to help pay for a bill that got passed?" says Johnson.

Seems there is more to come as well. Here are some "rumors" going around for phase two.

As part of the Obama health care initiative cost cutting measures, now known as the "Obama Bite Me Plan," everyone will now be forced to eat carrots at least 3 times weekly. For those that refuse there will be a 25% tax on all groceries. If you are allergic, and have a Doctor's note stating such, that tax is reduced to 15%.

This plan keeps everyone from having to wear glasses as studies have suggested that eating carrots improve your eyesight. A tax of $5,000 annually will be assessed for anyone wearing glasses today to offset future costs of eyecare. Additionally the plan, referred to as the "John Cena You Can't See Me Initiative," eliminates unnecessary education spending by eliminating Optometry schools and curriculums from our education resource funding. According to our projections this will result in a savings of trillions of dollars we can now use to bailout the banks funding student loans.

As an American and a veteran I state right here right now that I will do my part for America. I don't want any police officer to be falsely accused of profiling me therefore I will now quit wearing glasses to avoid being singled out in any way. I apologize in advance if I happen to bump into your vehicle while you are sitting at a stop light.

There will be an additional 15% tax on all kids under the age of 12 for losing teeth. As part of the "Obama Bite Me Plan" the parents are responsible for collecting or paying the tax on their behalf. Failure to do so will result in a minimum penalty of loss of income tax refund, and/or the use of low income or earned income deductions on your tax return for 10 years, and includes one year minimum prison time in a maximum security prison.

Part II of the "Obama Bite Me Plan," and part of the Democratic wealth redistribution program, the Democratic Congress has learned that the tooth fairy is currently being paid by Government subsidies due to the breakdown of the enamel recycling center overseen by the EPA. This has cost the tooth fairy a job through no fault of her own. This is a grievous error and requires a permanent government bailout for lost wages. This money will be paid by charging our children for the costs of this loss.

Accordingly, the Obama health care redistribution of assets plan states that this money must be used to fund those lower income, and/or unemployed folks, for the subsidies they currently enjoy. It is scheduled to result in a surplus of $1 trillion dollars monthly

Part III of the "Obama Bite Me Plan," alludes to the problem of elderly and dentures. Due to the skyrocketing dental costs, attributed primarily to our elderly over the age of 55, our elderly citizens will have to now endure an extra "Bite Me" cost for dentures. The Obama plan forces denture providers to charge a minimum additional "fee" per tooth of $2.99, and not to exceed $300 per tooth, based on the ability to pay. These "fees" are in addition to the cost of the dentures themselves. The total cost of this mandatory replacement will be taxed at an additional 23% tax rate for each tooth replaced.

Part III (a)For those under the age of 55 if dentures are necessary they will be provided willingly or unwillingly. Anyone under the age of 55 will pay a rate that is double the elderly rate listed above.

This section works in conjunction with the new "No Smile left behind Act." The money gained will be redistributed to fund our new social security program coming later next year. The resulting additional monies will result in the elimination of all our current health care costs. Based on studies done, over a 3 hour period by by our Harvard review team, our projected economic outlook forecasts a savings of $5 trillion each week.

Due to statutory mandates this money will be redistributed to China over a period of 100 years towards our National debt. We are also statutorially bound to provide our hard working legislators a minimum of a 300% raise they so justly deserve within 3 days.

Yep I can see it now.

Tonight I decided to do a show without a formal guest. Based on feedback from you the listener it has been decided to go in a slightly different direction. Though we will still focus on guests we will also not allot a whole hour to them every time. There will be occassions we continue to do that especially with candidates for office but we will work towards a direction that allows us to get to more content for you the listener. Tonight I had in studio my reguklar co host Ed Martin to discuss all kinds of things.

THIS JUST IN: COUNCIL DISTRICT 6 GETS AN INDEPENDENT

Thursday update 12:02 am

The Metro Council finally made a decision tonight after spending hours in a deadlock and then waiting for Jim King to get back from Ohio and Kevin Kramer to get back from Washington. And of course Glenn Stuckel changed his vote earlier in the process just to make it interesting.

The winner is likely someone you have never heard of in politics. Until tonight I hadn't either really. The new Council member is Deonte Hollowell a registered independent.

While many believed Ken Herndon should have gotten the appointment, myself among them, the Council remained deadlocked between Herndon and attorney Neena Parks Thompson. Curiously there are now many questions to be asked. For starters just who is Deonte Hollowell? According to the CJ Deonte Hollowell holds a PhD. and is a professor at the University of Louisville and Spaulding University. He is also 31 years old and the first independent member of the Council.

So why Hollowell? Hollowell was apparently put up as a compromise candidate to break the deadlock between Herndon and Parks Thompson. Interestingly though other than being a Professor there is not much of a political past in Hollowell.

One thing that interests me already is that Hollowell said he will run in the General in November for the permanent seat and "probably" as an independent. He should know that he HAS to run as an independent by law at this point. he cannot change voter registration now and run on a party platform. For someone seeking a political position he should know this already so it already leaves me wondering just what he may know or do as a Council member.

Another thing that is puzzling is why would the parties appoint an independent? Is it because they were both playing power politics? The Republicans want the seat and need it for sure to offset the Democratic majority, and the Democrats do not want to give up any seats in the hopes that Abramson clone Greg Fisher gets elected in November.

With that being said, did the Republicans go with an independent to avoid the Democratic candidate campaigning as an incumbent hoping to gain an advantage in November? Did the Democrats go with independent Hollowell because he is African American and they could not get Parks Thompson through the process?

I will look through the votes later but one thing is for sure.

Hollowell just got the gift of a lifetime in politics. Let's hope he knows how to use it the right way for us all.
